Let's start with the good news!
For those of you attending: the artist alley has been moved to where the karaoke and gaming room used to be. It's on a different floor, and it's out of the way of main events. HOPEFULLY IT WON'T SUCK FOR US ARTISTS TOO MUCH.
All past years, it's been right next to the exhibitors, in a small room with only about 60 tables, which all sell out in less than 3 minutes. The new room is a little bigger, with 72 tables. That's only 12 more artists than usual. It's nice that they're trying to accommodate more artists, but it doesn't help us to be away from the main flow of traffic.
The way artists usually get a table is on a first come, first served basis. Last year, shihfu and I were only a couple seconds slower than most, and that got us waaaay down on the wait list. This year, they decided on a lottery system to be more "fair" to those that can't be on their computers the moment registration opens. Basically, we all had three days to register, our number was put on a chip, the chips were thrown in a bag, and the winners were chosen randomly. This may have worked out for me and shihfu, but it hurt and really pissed off the artists that are usually able to get a table. So I'm kinda expecting drama and shit to go down.
OH WELL WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
I'm not planning a bunch of new merchandise; just some more Pokemon and Black Adventures keychains, and My Little Pony (both human and pony form because of reason); and hopefully a couple stickers of things I've already drawn. Definitely some POD stickers. And maybe a Black Adventures calendar (lol would anyone buy that?), but I might be getting too ambitious. ALA is just a month away and there's still two weeks of classes left;;;
